SYDNEY - Held annually, AIME is a two-day trade show and showcase of the world’s best meetings and incentives destinations, venues, products and services. The stand awards celebrate exhibitors who have shown excellence in design and presentation on the show floor.

Reed Travel Exhibitions Director for AIME and CIBTM, Jacqui Timmins, said, “Our panel of industry judges found these weren’t easy decisions to make. All of our exhibitors are showcasing amazing stands and the level of creativity and imagination on display simply blew the judging panel away.”

The BESydney stand featured a replica of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, which spanned the width of the Destination Sydney footprint and could hold up to 12 people at one time. Visitors to the Sydney stand were encouraged to climb the bridge and sample the stunning views available to visitors through the latest technology in theatre experience, iTVGoggles. Wearers of the cinema goggles were transported to Sydney, immersed in footage of the harbour city’s iconic light and sound festival, Vivid Sydney.

BESydney CEO Lyn Lewis-Smith said, “With tough competition out there on the show floor we wanted an area that would not only stand out but make a lasting impression to all who visited it. I think we definitely achieved this.

“The Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of the world’s most iconic structures. And, while we know Sydney has a lot more to offer meeting planners in terms of world-class infrastructure, a professional, global meetings industry, and world-renowned business and academic credentials, we also know that the city’s stunning beauty is a natural drawcard for delegates and meeting planners alike.

“We also wanted to demonstrate that in Sydney, anything really is possible! We think big, aim high and have the support of the industry to deliver.”

AIME organiser Reed Travel Exhibitions was expecting to attract some 3,300 visitors and 503 buyers from 29 countries, with 54 per cent of hosted buyers attending the show for the first time. The tradeshow featured 714 exhibitors from five continents.
