PHUKET, Thailand - Innovative boutique resort operator AHMS - The Collection has again revealed its pioneering spirit with the creation of Ayurah Wellness Centre, a new twist on the essential Asian spa experience as part of the rebirth of Aleenta Phuket-Phang Nga.

Setting a high-water mark for what a 'new spa' should be, Ayurah offers a cutting-edge range of treatments and a philosophy of 'wellness that works', utilising the best of modern medical wisdom and time-honoured traditional Thai treatments and world class beauty practices utilised by Hollywood high-flyers.

Ayurah Wellness Centre is part of Aleenta Phuket-Phang Nga's THB100 million (USD3.5 million) renovation and takes its place at the leading edge of spa, health and wellness.

AHMS plans to roll out Ayurah Wellness Centres at all AHMS The Collection hotels and resorts, beginning with Aleenta Hua Hin-Pranburi and AKARYN Samui Resort & Spa this year. AKARYN Koh Krabeay Retreat in Cambodia, located on an exclusive private island, will feature an even more progressive Ayurah Wellness Centre when it opens as The Collection's flagship property later next year featuring advanced anti-ageing methodologies.

AHMS owner and managing director Anchalika Kijkanakorn, who is also chairman of the Board for Small Luxury Hotels of the World, said: "This is a concept very much of its time. Guests are now well versed on wellness and are looking for a more medical approach, integrating treatments into their holidays so they will leave feeling and looking great. They want a spa that delivers on its promises, that provides treatments which work, and that's Ayurah."

"Ayurah is also very much a lifestyle choice. We are talking about treatments where guests come three to four times a year, to 'top up' on making sure they are looking and feeling their very best. This can include full maintenance plans where guests will be able to come once or twice a month keeping them feeling beautiful and rejuvenated."

To celebrate the launch of Ayurah Wellness Centre, Ayurah is offering experiences that provide the perfect start to reconnecting with your inner self through a choice of pursuits over three yearly visits.

Ms Kijkanakorn added: "I feel that Ayurah is being bold and practical with its approach to wellness. It is based on a more thoughtful personal lifestyle, and we are providing the holistic and medical science to help guests improve their bodies and minds during their stay at the resort but also later on. This ensures they benefit from the results."

Ayurah Wellness Centre will offer treatments including hydrotherapy and chromotherapy baths, nail and foot reflexology, oxygen and music therapy, a Vichy shower, a beauty lounge, a tranquil relaxation lounge and six treatment rooms for couples and singles. It further offers jet lag recovery, executive stress relief, body sentimentality treatment, a facial elixir treatment, a children's spa introductory programme and a deluxe newlyweds spa experience.

The Edge restaurant is also integrated into the 360 lifestyle offering, with specially tailored culinary options - taking into consideration dietary concerns on the overall wellness offering - for guests to naturally detox their bodies while on holiday.

In addition, Ayurah Wellness Centre will feature a range of uncompromising premium products that guests will be able to use once they leave resort and continue treatments at home. These will be unveiled in August this year.

Three-day, five-day and seven-day experiences are available for guests looking to immerse themselves in a health-focused holiday upon enquiry. They can be tailored to meet individual needs following a consultation with an onsite Thai medical doctor.

Parents can relax into Ayurah's pampering with a purpose while children have a ball and learn too at Aleenta Explorers Club, where well-trained staff instruct kids aged 18 months to 10 years old in a range of fun and educational activities. Ayurah will also have a range of children's activities including yoga, with expert instruction from the resident yoga master, Thai boxing, Tai Chi, Pilates, aqua exercise and nature walks.
