Malaysia to get a taste of the globally acclaimed Korean hit, NANTA (Cookin’) onboard SuperStar Libra

Malaysia - Following the Premiere release of the ‘Nanta At Sea’ celebration onboard SuperStar Gemini (14 November 2014 – 2 January 2015), Star Cruises, the leading cruise line in Asia-Pacific is pleased to announce that the ‘Nanta At Sea’ cruise will also be extended to SuperStar Libra from 23 November 2014 until 2 January 2015. Homeported in Penang (Malaysia), SuperStar Libra will be the latest addition of Star Cruises ships to showcase the award-winning Korean musical performance, NANTA (Cookin’). Holidaymakers can enjoy this unique experience at sea with the talented NANTA (Cookin’) troupe, during SuperStar Libra’s 3-Night cruise to the beautiful islands of Phuket and Krabi in Thailand, the 1-Night high seas cruise, as well as the 6-Night Yangon/Phuket special cruise departing on 23 November 2014.

NANTA (Cookin’) has played its magic across the continents to over 8 million people worldwide. The cast will soon continue to spread its magic with Star Cruises during the premiere season of the ‘Nanta At Sea’ celebration onboard SuperStar Gemini, and now SuperStar Libra as well. The highly popular NANTA (Cookin’) show delivers an all out energetic performance that is humourous and engaging at the same time. The non-verbal musical show revolves around three half-baked chefs that are told to prepare a banquet feast in an hour by their hardnosed manager. Things get complicated with the manager’s incompetent nephew turning up to assist the 3 chefs. However, this is where the real magic begins as the charming chefs turned percussionists, get creative and create music by beating, tapping and drumming their way around the kitchen, chopping furiously with food flying everywhere. The end result is a wonderful musical performance with plenty of laughter for the entire family.

Having made history as the first Asian production to open off Broadway and to win awards at the Edinburg Fringe Festival, ‘NANTA’ which means to strike relentlessly is a show inspired by the traditional Korean instrument performance, or simply known as “Salmunori”. Audiences onboard will be treated to an electrifying performance with awesome Kung-Fu stunts.
