Australia’s Global Achievers in NZ for the first time ever

For the first time ever, New Zealand played host to Australia's prestigious Global Achievers Event who recently celebrated their top travel sellers in New Zealand.

Tourism New Zealand (TNZ), with support from Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia secured the opportunity to host the event in Queenstown. The 150 agents are invited to join the Global Achievers club based on sales generated through Helloworld wholesale brands Qantas Holidays, Viva Holidays, Travel Indochina, Rail Tickets, Harvey's Choice and The Cruise Team. Helloworld Limited is the second largest integrated travel company in Australia with invited agents typically generating between $300,000 and $1.5 million in sales per annum.

Held over a three-day weekend, the pinnacle of the event was the awards dinner, where the category winners and overall top champions were announced. However for Tourism New Zealand the opportunity to improve the agents' selling knowledge of New Zealand was the key objective during the event.

Tourism New Zealand's Director of Trade, PR and Major Events Justin Watson, says it was an honour to be able to bring the exclusive club to New Zealand for the first time in the programme's 20-year history.

"This also gave us an incredible opportunity to host 100 of Australia's top selling travel agents on pre and post-famils throughout the Wellington, Canterbury and Southern Lakes regions."

"The agents were able to experience our diverse but easily accessible product offering - whether it was cycling, golf, touring or our world-class food and wine experiences."

"As seasoned agents we have been able to reawaken them to how amazing a holiday in New Zealand really is and I'm confident that the 150 will be selling more of New Zealand now, than ever before."

The Global Achievers programme, run by Qantas Holidays and Viva! Holidays since 1994, recognises the highest selling retail travel consultants in Australia. Each year Global Achievers Club members are invited to experience one of the key selling destinations and this year it was Queenstown's turn. For the first time ever, New Zealand played host to Australia's prestigious Global Achievers Event who recently celebrated their top travel sellers in New Zealand.
