Airline closes gates early

HANOI  Vietnam Airlines will close its check-in counters and boarding gates for both domestic and international flights 10 minutes earlier starting today, 1 December.
The carrier said on its website that the final call for all domestic flights will be 40 minutes rather than the previous 30 minutes to comply with a Ministry of Transport’s Circular dated 29 August.
Check-in counters for international services will close 50 minutes before departure time, up from 40 minutes.
inside no 2Vietnam Airlines will also shut the boarding gate 15 minutes before departure, instead of the current 10 minutes.
At international airports such as Charles de Gaulle (Paris, France); London Gatwick (London, UK); Frankfurt (Frankfurt, Germany), check-in counters will close 60 minutes before scheduled departures, the national flag carrier noted.
The transport ministry’s Circular 36/2014/TT-BGTVT stipulates that all airlines operating in Vietnam must adjust check-in counter and boarding gate closing times.
But Vietnam Airlines is the only carrier that has announced the changes so far.
