New service carries bags for cruise passengers

A new service has been launched that offers to carry cruise passengers’ bags for them.

Luggage Forward has created a new online booking engine designed for shipping bags to and from cruise ships. With an interface that the company claims can locate any cruise ship worldwide, the system offers luggage deliveries to ships belonging to 40 different cruise lines at almost 170 ports around the world. The service includes river cruise vessels.

The cruise move marks an extension of Luggage Forward’s existing services for air passengers.

“For more than 10 years, we have been enabling travellers to save time and hassles at the airport. For cruise passengers, we provide additional value by eliminating the need to carry bags between the airport and their cruise,” said Aaron Kirley, co-founder of Luggage Forward.

“Furthermore, we’ve been able to provide our partner cruise lines with a new revenue stream, both pre-cruise and onboard, while reducing overhead required to handle luggage shipping requests.”

Using the service, travellers can arrange to have their luggage picked up from their home and delivered directly to the cruise ship, for an all-inclusive price.
