HSMAI Honours Thailand with Gold Award in 58th Annual Adrian Awards Competition

NEW YORK - The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) has recognised the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) with a prestigious gold Adrian Award honouring best practices in hospitality, travel and tourism-related marketing for 2014. This year’s contest garnered more than 1,200 entries from around the world, with entries judged by top executives throughout the industry.

Thailand was honoured for a seven-page feature story on The Similan Islands that appeared in the February 2014 issue of the widely read American magazine The Robb Report, which has a combined online and print audience reach of nearly one million readers. The Tourism Authority, in conjunction with Phulay Bay, A Ritz Carlton Reserve, hosted the story’s author.

“We are very proud to see Thailand’s efforts honoured with one of the travel industry’s most sought-after awards,” said Srimala Waraphaskul, Director of TAT New York. “It is very gratifying when a media outlet captures the beauty and charm of our amazing country so well. We know how important it is for our audience to have the opportunity to read why Thailand is so special so they can be encouraged to come and discover it for themselves.”

“We are continually amazed by the creativity of the Adrian Award submissions,” said Fran Brasseux, HSMAI executive vice president. “We saw imaginative campaigns that got results in all categories, and we’re excited about honouring this year’s Adrian Award winners.”
