Manathai taps downunder

BANGKOK Manathai Hotels and Resorts, has opened an office in Australia to tap business for its expanding group of boutique properties in Thailand.
The Sydney based office will be headed by Belinda Montgomery, who specialises in launching hospitality products and brands in the Australian market.
With over 25 years in hospitality sales Montgomery has launched sales for Alpha Hotels, SilverNeedle Hospitality, Hilton Sydney, Le Meridien Sydney and the iconic Sydney Opera House.

Manathai Hotels and Resorts group director of sales and marketing Bobbie-Jane Skewes said: “We are delighted to announce Belinda’s appointment. She knows the business inside out and is supremely well connected. She is highly motivated and we are looking forward to working with her on maximizing the opportunity to match our collection of boutique resorts with Australian consumers.”
According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand over 800,000 Australians visited Thailand in 2014. Many head to South Thailand with 9% of the 5.6 million visitors disembarking at Phuket International Airport in 2014 arriving from Australia, according to the Phuket Hotel Market Update by hospitality consultancy C9 Hotelworks.
inside no 6.1Manathai Hotels and Resorts was launched in late 2014 and within eight months opened three resorts in Thailand at Khao Lak, Samui island and Hua Hin, all having undergone extensive refurbishment and remodeling. A fourth resort, Manathai Surin Phuket will open in November this year.
