Aman to open hot spring resort in Japan

Aman has revealed plans for its second luxury property in Japan.

Set to launch in the first quarter of 2016, Amanemu will be located in Ise Shima National Park, approximately 300km southwest of Tokyo. Becoming Aman’s first ever hot spring resort, Amanemu will offer 24 suites and two-bedroom villas, each with its own onsen, or Japanese hot spring bath.

Other facilities will include a spa, swimming pool, restaurant and lounge.

The new Japan resort follows the recent launch of the Aman Tokyo, which became the company’s first city hotel when it opened in December 2014.

“Following on from the opening of Aman Tokyo and continuing the Aman journey in Japan, we intend to create a true Aman experience that will provide our guests with the very best of Japan’s unique natural beauty, exquisite cuisine and ‘omotenashi’ – the special spirit of hospitality,” said Olivier Jolviet, CEO of Aman.

“This, our first onsen resort, with its nutrient-rich hot springs will offer an enriching holistic experience that is very much centred on wellness and tradition.”

The launch of Amanemu will boost the Aman portfolio to 30 properties, including 21 in the Asia Pacific region.
