BANGKOK Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau recommends MICE travellers visiting Thailand to continue with their travel plans.
The notice acknowledged that most Thai people will be wearing black or white dress as a sign of mourning, but this is not required of business travellers attending events in Thailand.
However, TCEB said it would be appreciated if visitors wore appropriate clothing when in public. They should recognise the country is in mourning, but Thai people welcome visitors and this sentiment has not changed.
Global leaders and foreigners around the world have shown their support for Thailand and expressed their condolences as the country mourns the loss of HM the King who ruled Thailand for 70 years.
Incentive and tourist attractions will open as usual with the exception of Wat Phra Kaeo (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) and the Grand Palace, as they are venues of the Royal Funeral Rites.
The government has also asked for cooperation from entertainment venues; such as, bars and nightclubs to curtail opening hours during this time. The decision with be left to individual owners.
Most of the traditional and cultural events will be taking place as usual, although the celebrations may be changed, or the events may be dedicated to the memory of the Late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
