Citadel sells chilled evening visits

THUA THIEN-HUE The Imperial Citadel of Hue will open parts of it ancient World Heritage complex to visitors at night from late April, but only for a trial period to gauge response.

Local media reported the trial will run from 22 April to 15 September to help tourists avoid the scorching summer heat during the day and give them more time to visit interesting places in the citadel.

Visitors will have a chance to explore the Gate of Noon, Thai Hoa Palace, The Mieu Temple, Dien Tho Palace, Truong Sanh Palace, Tu Phuong Vo Su Pavilion and Peace Gate from 1900 to 2200.

inside no 5A number of nighttime activities that once took place inside the Imperial City will be replicated, such as the changing of the old imperial guard, musical performances, religious offerings, and martial arts training by the imperial army.

Vietnamese visiting in the evening will pay VND120,000 (USD5.36) and foreigners VND150,000 (USD6.7).
