Satun - Tourism Malaysia holds sending off ceremony at the Tammalang Ferry Terminal, Satun to promote Southern Thai Packages to Malaysia through “Ferry Package” with the aim to increase Thai arrivals to Malaysia especially from Southern part of Thailand.
The key official at the ceremony is Consul General of Malaysia in Songkla, Mr. Mohd Afandi Abu Bakar who is joined by Mr. Abdul Haris Hadi, Director Tourism Malaysia – Bangkok office have presided over the sending off participants of Ferry package to promote a fascinating ferry rides from Satun, Thailand to Langkawi, Malaysia as well as to foster closer tourism ties between Thailand and Malaysia.
Consul General of Malaysia in Songkla, Mr. Mohd Afandi Abu Bakar expresses his appreciation that the two friendly countries have made great efforts to promote Thailand-Malaysia cooperation in tourism especially this year to commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries this year. While Director Tourism Malaysia, Mr. Abdul Haris Hadi thanks travel agents and media for their dedicated efforts and constant support in promoting Malaysia especially in Southern Thailand.
“As Malaysia and Thailand shared 8 border land-crossing points, this ferry route is hopefully regarded as another good linking to further enable tourism between the two countries,” Mr. Afandi Abu Bakar, Consul General of Malaysia said.
To this, Mr. Abdul Haris Hadi, the Director Tourism Malaysia adds “Last month we have launched Southern Thai Packages to Malaysia by promoting one of the fascinating transportation platforms through Malaysia Rail Packages, this time we would like to invite all Thai tourists to explore another travel experience through the ferry packages to Malaysia. From January to August, Malaysia received about 1,235,706 Thai tourists. We hope that this package will receive good feedback as the earlier rail program.”
Besides, Tourism Malaysia continues to use the theme ‘Malaysia Truly Asia’ to be promoted along with #ThaiPaiMalaysia to encourage Thai tourists to mark Malaysia as a preferred holiday destination for family and friends.
