eTourism Day at MTF

BANGKOK, 8 June 2012: eTourism Day, a technology seminar will be hosted 12 June in Chiang Rai on the eve of the Mekong Tourism Forum, 13 to 14 June.

eTourism Day is a joint initiative by the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Google.

eTourism Day sessions will be held in both Thai and English and led by experts from TAT and Google Thailand, along with Dragon Trail, which previously ran GMS social media “boot camps” in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.

Speakers are: TAT director, marketing information technology group, Thapanee Kiatphaibool on ‘Building the Chiang Rai brand via Social Media and Digital Marketing’ and Google Thailand, country head Ariya Banomyong, on Google solutions for businesses.

According to Mr Banomyong, six out of 10 travellers use internet search engines as their main source for travel information.

eTourism Day will take place at the Le Meridien Resort Chiang Rai 12 June. Attendance is free. The morning sessions will be conducted in Thai, with a mirror afternoon session in English.
