MPK To Organise Motorcycle Convoy Through Asean Countries

KANGAR, June 9 (Bernama) -- The Kangar Municipal Council (MPK) intends to organise a motorcycle convoy through Asean countries next year, to promote Malaysia as a tourism destination.

MPK president Rosley Mat said such activities would help the country and Perlis promote its best tourism attractions.

Speaking to reporters after welcoming 40 convoy participants of 'Jom Pi Perlis' at the Datuk Sheikh Ahmad Square here Friday night, he said the programme should be made into an annual affair. He said MPK would identify the closest Asean countries including Thailand and Myanmar for the high-powered motorcycle convoy.

Rosley was confident the idea would greatly benefit the country's tourism sector.
