ABERDEEN - This August, Ovolo Hotels will kick-off their exciting 2013 expansion plans with the launch of 100 Shek Pai Wan Road in Aberdeen - a sleek new lifestyle hotel whose bright sun-shiny rooms put a contemporary twist on the rich maritime heritage of Hong Kong’s most cherished waterfront community. Featuring 85 guestrooms with sweeping sea views, a spacious Lo Lounge, 24/7 gym, and Ovolo’s signature detail-driven design and all-inclusive services, 100 SPW will provide its guests with effortless living when it opens its doors to the public on the 1st of August 2013. With the launch also comes Ovolo’s brand new citywide Wi-Fi hotspot service, giving Ovolo hotel guests free access to over 8,500 HKBN hotspots across Hong Kong including the airport, malls, restaurants and even remote areas.
Designed by award-winning Hong Kong firm and long-term Ovolo partners KplusK Associates, Ovolo 100 Shek Pai Wan Road is a modern interpretation of relaxed coastal living featuring subtle maritime accents and textures that link the hotel’s interior with its surroundings in a bold colourful new way. From the moment guests first enter the peaceful atmosphere of the lobby, complete with a breezy covered terrace, they will be treated to a thoughtfully crafted design that captures the essence of Aberdeen’s historic seafront community. Elements from the traditional fishing culture are apparent throughout the hotel; driftwood tables, ropes, fenders, and Chinese lanterns decorate the Lo Lounge, whilst sheer net curtains, water-toned wallpaper by Knoll, and fish scale cushions bring a flavour of the local character into the guestrooms. The elegant facade of the hotel is crowned by a beacon of light at the top of the building, evoking imagery of a lighthouse.
The smartly spaced layouts provide a relaxed flow and feature-rich experience for guests. Walk-in showers are included with fantastic vantage points that can see all the way to Lamma Island. Within the 85 guestrooms, Ovolo 100 SPW offers its guests five distinct styles of accommodation. Six rooms come fitted with an additional bunk bed fixed to the wall, accessed by a contemporary steel ladder, and are perfect for a family of three or young group travellers. For larger families, ten pairs of rooms can
be interconnected, and four corner sea view suites with extended living room areas grace the top floors of the hotel.

Watch this space for the grand opening of Ovolo’s most ambitious project to date, a New York style warehouse conversion in Wong Chuk Hang that will feature 162 rooms, a trendy rooftop bar and an international restaurant. This will be Hong Kong’s first warehouse-to-hospitality conversion. Set to become an icon of Hong Kong’s
Southside, the new Ovolo Wong Chuk Hang is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2013.
