Second Phnom Penh International Semi Marathon To Be Held in Mid June

The Second Phnom Penh International Semi Marathon is scheduled to take place on June 17, said Mr. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) at a press conference last Thursday.

Some 2,000 athletes are expected to join the event, which is aimed at celebrating the 118th Anniversary of International Olympic Day and the Birthday of Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk and at contributing to environmental protection in Phnom Penh capital city, Mr. Vath Chamroeun indicated.

The upcoming semi marathon is also aimed at raising fund for helping landmine/UXO victims, he added.Last year, around 1,600 local and foreign athletes participated in the First Phnom Penh International Semi Marathon.
