Amory 7 Makara, a linked house development in the northern part of Phnom Penh, broke ground last week.

The developer, Amory Co Ltd, has invested $30 million in the project, which covers 32 hectares along 7 Makara Street, a road that connects National Road 6 and Oknha Ly Yong Phat Road.

The project is near landmarks like the Win-Win Monument, Safari World, the new National Stadium and a number of renowned borey projects. Real estate insiders consider the area a very attractive location.

Speaking during a ceremony on Saturday to launch sales for the project, Soun Vireakdara, CEO of the company, said the project is located at the heart of the economic centre of the city, near important commercial and residential areas, and close to rivers.

“We decided to invest in this project because the local property sector and economy are thriving. Our project’s location is the best you can find,” Mr Vireakdara said.

“With the country experiencing high economic growth, incomes are rising, enabling people to enjoy better living standards.

“Amory has taken note and is playing an important role helping people to invest in small and medium-sized properties.”

He said Phase I of the project comprises 50 houses as well as land subdivisions.

Chrek Soknim, CEO of Century 21 Mekong, said the northern part of Phnom Penh has numerous housing development projects and good infrastructure, making it one of the most interesting areas for developers.
