Kratie will host next month a trade fair to promote agricultural products and handicrafts made in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.

Organised by the Ministry of Commerce, the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) Development Triangle Fair will be held alongside the 12th CLV Triangle Joint Coordination Committee Meeting.

“With the participation of Laos and Vietnam, the trade fair will support local products and trade in the CLV development triangle,” the ministry said in a press release.

“Particularly, it will serve as a platform for business people to come together and exchange ideas to increase their sales but also to promote the economic development of the region,” it said.

Tong Rita, deputy chief of local trade at the ministry, told Khmer Times that 30 percent of the booths have already been booked, urging local companies to reserve the rest as locals can rent the space at no cost.

“We have around 100 booths reserved for local products. Firms can booked them for free.

“International companies will also participate at this year’s fair in Kratie, so local companies are advised to take advantage of this great opportunity,” she added.

Chen Sopheap, founder and managing director of Keiy Tambanh Khmer, a manufacturer of traditional Cambodian fabrics and scarves, told Khmer Times yesterday that she will be attending the event, which she hopes will help her expand her network.
