The Consumer Protection Law will be submitted to the Council of Ministers for approval in upcoming weeks and may come into effect this year, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
The draft law has been completed by an inter-ministerial group, said Phan Oun, deputy director general of Cambodia Import-Export Inspection and Fraud Repression Directorate-General (CamControl).
As the next step in the approval process, the law will be sent to the Council of Ministers, from where it will reach the National Assembly, Mr Oun said.
