QF, SAA codeshare approved

17 Sep 2012  2086 | Business & Trade Fairs

Australia’s regulatory body has put forth a new codeshare allocation that may see Qantas and South African Airways codeshare on seven services per week between Australia and South Africa.

Announced this morning, the move comes months after the International Air Services Commission (IASC) denied the two airlines a five year extension on its current arrangement due to end 31 December 2012.

Although still set against a five year extension, the IASC proposed a determination that would see the two airline’s codeshare on seven flights per week until 31 December 2014.

The Commission has invited submissions regarding the draft determination to be in by 1 October this year and intention to submit by 24 September.

Check out e-Travel Blackboard tomorrow for more on the draft determination.
