Euros, excellence to transform AF products

The French airline has announced it will spend “several hundred million euros” on repositioning its products and services to encompass three values; excellence, attention to detail and choice.

Announced this morning, the move follows on from the carrier’s recently unveiled return to profitability plan, Transform 2015 Project, and will see the airline invest in renewing its first and business class cabins on board its Boeing 777 aircraft and make its fleet “a reference in terms of comfort, service and in-flight dining”.

Utilising feedback gathered from frequent flyers, the airline said other changes would also see business travellers flying with a completely redesigned in-flight meal experience n its medium-haul network from winter this year.

“With this ambitious investment plan, we are illustrating our determination to place customer satisfaction at the heart of our strategy,” Air France chief executive Alexandre de Juniac said. ?

“Innovative initiatives will be introduced in the coming months to complement these projects.

“The entire Company is fully mobilized to reposition our offer at the best possible global level and regain our leadership position.”

From 2013, the airline said it will also offer its customers world exclusive digital press offer free of charge to be downloaded and read of their smartphone or tablet before their flight while its travel saver cardholders in Metropolitan France will also be able to access Flying Blue Elite and Elite Plus on domestic flights.

Today, the carrier also announced it has signed a new multi-year full-content agreement with global technology company, Sabre Travel Network.

Meanwhile earlier this year and also as part of the airline’s Transform 2015 Project, the carrier said it will merge its short and medium-haul flying subsidiaries to form a single French hub.
