Bahrain’s national carrier has reached an agreement with Airbus and Boeing to realign to original aircraft orders to meet long-term needs. As part of the revised agreement, Airbus agreed to converse the existing wide-body obligation into eight A320ceo to be delivered by the year-end, plus sixteen A320neo expected to join the fleet during the later part of the decade. Meanwhile, Boeing agreed to allow the airline to reduce its wide-body 787 requirements to 12-16 depending on its strategic needs. Gulf Air chief executive Samer Majali said changes would cut the carrier’s long-term financial liability by half and expects the rest of “more effectively” meet the carrier’s needs for future fleet replacement and growth.
