Qantas to reduce capacity to Italy

 Qantas has applied to reduce capacity and codeshare on Italy routes, pertaining to its agreement with Emirates.

Qantas seeks to reduce capacity from 600 to 300 seats on the Italy route and enact a codeshare with Emirates by 31 March 2013.

The International Air Services Commission (IASC) has permitted Qantas to codeshare on Emirates’ services between Dubai and Milan and provide services jointly with Emirates on the France route.

After conducting a review of capacity held by HeavyLift, the IASC issued a decision revoking HeavyLift’s determinations on all routes on which it had allocations.

Applications concerning Qantas’ Italy route request are now being taken by the IASC.
