Malaysia Airlines has launched a new codeshare agreement with American Airlines on flights between Kuala Lumpur and several Eastern cities in the USA.
Effective 25 March 2013, the agreement will spread across 136 weekly connection options between Kuala Lumpur and the US Cities of Chicago, Dallas, New York, Miami and Raleigh through any one of the its 3 European stations namely London, Paris and Frankfurt.
Malaysia Airlines Group chief executive Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said the agreement was in line with the airline’s cooperation as a oneworld alliance member, and expects it to be an “excellent opportunity” for the carrier’s to expand its business across the US “without having to mount” its own flights.
“As one of the most affordable tourist destinations in the Asia Pacific region, we are confident that more tourists from other parts of the US will use this code share and visit Malaysia,” Mr Yahya added.
