A falling boarding bridge has torn the door off a Cathay Pacific A330 at Chek Lap Kok International Airport in Hong Kong.
After all 262 passengers and crew had boarded the aircraft, the air bridge connected to the rear of the plane collapsed and smashed into another bridge, injuring a technician, The Standard reported.
A witness said the plane was ready to move to the runway when the bridge collapsed.
Passengers aboard the aircraft destined for Nagoya, Japan were disembarked, provided food and accommodation and placed on alternative flights.
“We are investigating the cause of the incident,” a Hong Kong Airport Authority spokesperson said.
The use of all rear bridges at the airport has been suspended pending further inspection.
