Qantas has unveiled its new uniform by Australian designer Martin Grant, created in collaboration with the Qantas employees.
The specially-designed garbs will be the first new uniforms in ten years for the Australian airline.
12,600 Qantas employees will be adorned with the outfits from early 2014.
“This is a new look for a new chapter for Qantas,” Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce said.
“Martin’s interpretation of the brief was developed in collaboration with Qantas employees, and the end result is a stylish and comfortable collection that will help our people feel their best no matter where they are in the world.”
Mr Grant engaged with the Qantas Uniform Panel - 12 select representatives from Qantas customer service departments - receiving important feedback on functionality and wearability.
“My inspiration for the uniform came from Qantas’ striking logo - the powerful red triangle and the flying kangaroo - I have always loved the Qantas logo as it’s very nostalgic for me,” Mr Grant said.
“I wanted to create a uniform that reflected the glamour of flying and something that would suit every body shape.”
