Korean Air and Myanmar Airways International enter into code-sharing agreement

Korean Air together with Myanmar Airways International (MAI) has signed a codeshare and partnership memorandum of understanding at Korean Air's headquarters in Seoul.

The MOU will enable both airlines to promote bilateral cooperation in the areas of flight operations and maintenance, safety and passenger traffic.

Under the agreement, MAI will place its "8M" code on Korean Air's daily flight between Seoul and Yangon, while the Korean carrier plans to expand the codeshare agreement on flights operated by MAI.

The comprehensive codeshare agreement is expected to strengthen Korean Air's partnership with MAI by developing air traffic, boosting demand and improving schedules between the two countries, a company release said.

The official signing ceremony was held in the presence of MAI Managing Director U Si Thu and Korean Air President Mr. Chang Hoon Chi.
