x Passengers were stuck waiting for up to three hours before their flight could take off, to allow crew to have a sleep-in.
According to reports, ground staff in Aberdeen told passengers British Airways workers needed the extra sleep after being kept up all night by a wedding at their hotel, Mirror.co.uk reported.
“We were told the crew had been disturbed by a noisy wedding party,” a passenger said.
"This was after we had been kept waiting. BA haven’t offered us any compensation, but I’ll certainly be looking into it.”
A British Airways spokesperson said the delay was for “operational reasons” and to reduce any flight risks.
“Our priority is always the safety of passengers,” the spokesperson said.
“We’d never operate a flight if safety was at risk.”
The flight was originally due to leave Aderdeen at 6.30am for Barcelona and eventually departed at 9.50am.
