Finnair has applied to join British Airways and Japan Airlines in a joint business agreement to improve revenues and competitiveness on flights between Europe and Japan.
British Airways and Japan Airlines entered into a joint business agreement in October 2012 to increase flight choices.
The addition of Finnair to the joint business agreement would further enhance customer benefits, according to the airline, and allow the three airlines to cooperate on expanding their presence within and to and from Japan.
Subject to regulatory approval, British Airways chief executive Keith Williams said the tie-up would strengthen ties between the East and West.
“With the strengthened partnership, we can improve our efficiencies to provide the travelling public between Europe and Japan with a more comprehensive network,” Japan Airlines president Yoshiharu Ueki added.
