In 2007, the tourism in China showed a good momentum of development, and steady growth was maintained on three major markets. During the year, China received a total of 131,873,300 inbound travelers, and realized international tourism foreign exchange revenue of 41.919 billion US dollars, respectively up 5.5% and 23.5% than last year; there were 1.61 billion domestic visits, with revenue of RMB777.062 billion, respectively up 15.5% and 24.7% than last year; there were 40,954,000 outbound travelers of Chinese citizens, up 18.6% than last year; the total tourism revenue was RMB1,095.7 billion, up 22.6% than last year.
I. Achievements of inbound tourism
In 2007, the inbound tourism market of China saw a continuous steady growth, with all main statistics indicators increasing than last year:

The number of inbound visits reached 131,873,300, up 5.5% than last year, including: 26,109,700 foreigners, up 17.6% than last year; 77,948,900 Hong Kong compatriots, up 5.5% than last year; 23,186,800 Macau compatriots, down 5.0% than last year; and 4,627,900 Taiwan compatriots, up 4.9% than last year.
?? The number of inbound overnight travelers reached 54,719,800, up 9.6% than last year. They included 21,398,900 foreigners, an increase of 18.2% than last year; 29,299,700 Hong Kong and Macau compatriots, up 4.8% than last year; and 4,021,200 Taiwan compatriots, up 4.7% than last year.
? The international tourism (foreign exchange) revenue reached US$41.919 billion, up 23.5% than last year.
