Tour bus with Polish tourists on board had crashed near Berlin, Germany. At least 13 tourists have died and 19 were severely injured. The bus, which had around 50 tourists on board at the time, had been returning to Poland from Spain. The accident happened when the coach collided with the supports of a bridge spanning the motorway at Potsdam. Police say the driver lost control when swerving to avoid a car pulling on to the A10 autobahn from an adjoining slip road.

Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Health Minister Ewa Kopacz travelled in Berlin to inspect the crash site and to visit the injured. Ahead of their arrival, Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel called Mr Tusk to express her sympathy. They met later at the Polish embassy in Berlin.
