BANGKOK Thai AirAsia X, Thailand’s first low-fare, long-haul carrier, has joined hands with “Counter Service” to introduce an easy Book & Pay option.
Thai AirAsia X fares can be booked and purchased at all Counter Service branches across the country for passengers travelling to Japan’s Tokyo and Osaka, and South Korea’s Seoul.
The service offers the complete process from choosing a flight to paying for it and will add yet another competitive channel that will challenge the country’s travel agencies.
Counter Service has 9,900 outlets across the country a cover that dwarfs travel agency networks.
inside no 2The airline CEO, Nadda Buranasiri, said the new option would make it more convenient for passengers, who want to use an alternative payment channel to credit cards.
“The airline is partnering with Counter Service outlets at 7-Eleven shops and other marked locations around the country…this new option will attract more passengers to fly with us.”
He cited: “This is the first time travellers will be able to book and pay for their Thai AirAsia X flights to Japan and South Korea with ease through Counter Service, including booking services such as 40 kg of check-in baggage or pre-booking for inflight meals.”
“Other booking options include the airline’s website (www.airasia.com), our mobile app and our existing service counters,” he said.
Counter Service Co Ltd assistant vice president, Weeradej Ackapopanich, added that this was the first time users of Counter Service would be able to book and pay for Thai AirAsia X tickets to Japan and South Korea as well as additional services such as check-in baggage and meals onboard.
Customers need to inform the Counter Service attendant that they wish to book a flight, they complete the travel information slip, select a flight and pay in cash or credit card. They receive a receipt that can be used as an e-ticket.
A SMS is sent to re-confirm the booking. Up to four people can purchase tickets with a single booking code, the vice president explained.
Thai AirAsia X operates a daily flight each from Bangkok to Seoul Incheon International Airport and Tokyo Narita International Airport, and five weekly flights to Osaka Kansai International Airport.
Starting 26 March, Thai AirAsia X flights to Tokyo Narita International Airport will increase to two daily from one daily. Flights from Bangkok to Osaka Kansai International Airport will also increase from five weekly to daily.
