Vietnam's Largest Tourism Event Kicks off in Ho Ch Minh City

Five years old this year, the International Travel Expo 2010, Vietnam’s largest tourism event kicked off yesterday in Ho Ch Minh City, with a glittering launch event, featuring stunningly colourful dancers and the country’s popular music singers and performers and attended by Tourism Minsters and dignitaries from all over the region.
Organised by Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, VINEXAD and IIR Exhibitions the 2010 event includes seventy exhibitors from fourteen countries with nine country pavilions including Cambodia, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Myanmar, China, Turkey and more than fifteen international hosted media partners from thirteen countries, with e-Travel Blackboard as an official media partner.
Ten provincial pavilions represent An Giang, Binh Thuan, Can Tho, Dong Nai, Hoi An City, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, Quang Ninh, Tien Giang, Vung Tau, with the organisers saying that with the recovery and maturing of Vietnamese tourism they estimate 5m international tourists will travel to Vietnam in general and 3m to Ho Chi Minh City in particular.
The theme of this year’s event is “Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam - 3 countries – 1 destination”, with the organisers saying that ITE provides a platform for the Greater Mekong Sub-region to showcase its newest tourism and travel Products and services as well as networking opportunities.
