Compass Hospitality, the Bangkok-based hotel management group, has moved into the UK for the first time with the signing of two properties.
The company has penned management deals for The Lion Hotel Shrewsbury, in the western county of Shropshire, and The White Swan Halifax, West Yorkshire.
“As UK gains momentum in its economic recovery, our operational presence here will enable Compass Hospitality to grow our footprint and expand to wider Europe. Our business partners and guests will also benefit from our geographical and market expansion,” said Compass’ president & CEO, Harmil Singh.
The Lion Hotel, which dates back to the 1600s and once housed Charles Dickens, offers 59 rooms and suites, a restaurant, bar and several function rooms. The White Swan meanwhile, features 40 rooms and suites, a breakfast area and two functions rooms.
These two hotels join Compass’ existing portfolio of 48 properties in Thailand and Malaysia.
