Phuket marina taps events

PHUKET  Royal Phuket Marina will host three international exhibitions over 11 weeks, bringing more than 10,000 visitors to Phuket.
The marina’s events season starts with the Asia-Pacific Cigar, Whisky & Lifestyle Expo (APCWL) hosted 23 to 25 October.
It represents a first for Asia, organised by Hathor Investment Group – an investment management company focused on hospitality and headquartered in Hong Kong.
“As we enter Phuket’s peak tourist season we will be hosting three large-scale exhibitions between October and January and over 2016 we expect to have on average one large-scale trade, or consumer exhibition, each month,” said Royal Phuket Marina chairman, Gulu Lalvani.
inside no 8Just month later the Food and Hotelex, a B2B and B2C exhibition will convene at the marina’s exhibition hall 19 to 22 November.
Organised by Expolink Global Network Limited, Food and Hotelex will include visiting master chefs, wine tasting a bartender competitions.
Royal Phuket Marina has a 2,500 sqm waterfront air-conditioned exhibition hall with ample parking.
The third exhibition is the Phuket International Boat Show (PIMEX), which will be held 7 to 10 January 2016.
Asia’s premier boat show, PIMEX attracts over 5,000 visitors from more than 30 countries around the world.
Adding to Royal Phuket Marina’s proposition as a MICE destination is the group’s THB5 billion five-year investment plan that will see the addition of two resort properties totalling more than 600 rooms, 160 serviced apartments at La Reserve condominium, the RPM children’s zone and expansion of marina facilities.
“Our five-year investment plan will make Royal Phuket Marina even more attractive to event organisers and the destination of choice for exhibitions of all sizes,” added Lalvani.
