Visa card adds insurance

BANGKOK  Cigna Insurance has launched a new travel insurance package for upscale Visa Card holders.
Cigna Insurance CEO and country manager, Julian Mengual, together with Visa Thailand country manager of Visa Thailand, Suripong Tantiyanon, announced the new package for Visa Platinum, Visa Signature and Visa Infinite cardholders, a launch event in Bangkok last week.

inside no 6“With 49% more travel insurance purchasing in 2014 and even more expected in 2015, Cigna wants to provide travellers with attractively priced cover during their trips providing access to high quality medical care and emergency travel assistance worldwide,” Mengual.
The Thailand outbound market is estimated around 8 million trips annually overseas. Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea are the most popular destinations. Of the 8 million estimated trips, 3 million are to neighbouring countries mostly overland visits. Very few Thai travellers both to buy travel insurance.
Cigna Thailand, a subsidiary of Cigna, the US-based global health service company servicing with over 89 million customers worldwide, has firmly established its presence in Thailand since 2002.
