Snow causes chaos at Heathrow

Travellers to London’s Heathrow Airport face delays and flight cancellations due to severe snow storms, the worst to hit the UK in 20 years.According to the airport’s website, airlines are operating under severely reduced schedules until 0600 (local time) Wednesday 22 December at the earliest. It also suggests passengers residing in London should not travel to the airport until the airline confirms a firm departure time.British Airways announced more cancellations, today, as snow storms forced the closure of the second runway at Heathrow Airport. The airline was forced to cancel some flights to London from Sydney, Singapore and Bangkok.
Thai Airways International has also cancelled some of its flights from Bangkok, but will operate two additional flights from London due to leave, today, 21 December. Passengers should contact THAI for an updated schedule on services to London for this evening and tomorrow.THAI managed to fly out of London, yesterday evening, transporting 368 passengers on board a Boeing 747-400 aircraft.Etihad Airways reported weather in the UK had caused delay for all of its flights to London and flights to Manchester had been cancelled.
Etihad operates three flights to London daily. The airline encourages customers to check its website for the latest flight delays or cancellations.
