BANGKOK Siam Park City will organise an ASEAN Lantern Festival, 19 November to 22 February 2015 to attract more tourists from neighbouring countries.
Owning company City Walk’s CEO, Chaiwat Luangamornlert, said the theme park will cooperate with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Public Relations Department, and Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organise the event open daily 1000 to 2200.
The ASEAN Lantern Festival will highlight famous landmarks of each ASEAN member country, such as Merlion of Singapore, Petronas Twin Towers of Malaysia and Angkor Wat of Cambodia.
inside no 4Traditional Thai Puppets will also perform as well as a “Jewel of ASEAN” performance presenting cultural from each member country and ASEAN puppet lantern parade.
On 19 November, Her Royal Highness Princess Somsawalee will preside over the festival’s opening.
Thailand’s Public Relations Department will also hold an ASEAN Festival called “Welcome to the ASEAN Community” during 23 to 26 December at the theme park to offer more ASEAN information related to the start of the ASEAN Economic Community era, January 2016.
Entrance on weekdays costs THB500 (daytime) and a lantern pass costs THB350 valid 1700 to 2200.
