THAI reschedules flights to Denpasar, Bali due to Mount Rinjani volcanic ash

06 Nov 2015  2218 | World Travel News

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) announced that flights were rescheduled from Bangkok to Denpasar, Bali due to volcanic ash from Mount Rinjani in Lombok, Indonesia, located to the east of Bali, which caused heavy smog to cover the air space, resulted in poor visibility, and temporary closure of Denpasar Airport. All airlines operating flights to and from Denpasar cancelled flight transits as well as departures and arrivals on 4 November 2015 out of concern for flight safety, with airport closure effective from approximately 07:05 hours on 4 November 2015 to 07:45 hours on 5 November 2015 (local time, one hour ahead of Thailand). THAI adjusted its flight schedule for flight TG431 from Bangkok-Denpasar and flight TG432 from Denpasar-Bangkok, originally scheduled to depart on 4 November 2015.

THAI flights to and from Denpasar will resume once Denpasar Airport officially reopens at 07:45 hours on 5 November 2015, whereby flight TG431 will depart from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 10:00 hours and arrive at Denpasar Airport at 15:25 hours (local time). The return flight TG432 will depart from Denpasar Airport at 16:25 hours (local time) and arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 19:40 hours.

THAI operates five flights per week from Bangkok to Denapasar, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Flight TG431 departs from Suvarnabhumi Airport at 08:50 hours and arrives at Denpasar Airport at 14:15 hours (local time) and the return flight TG432 departs from Denpasar Airport at 16:10 hours (local time) and arrives at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 19:25 hours.
