HANOI Mövenpick will open a resort on Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam in 2017, the hotel company reported last week.
The group reported it has signed a management contract for the Mövenpick Resort Phu Quoc with the Ngoi Sao Cua Duong Joint Stock Company.
Construction is already underway on the beachside resort.
When it opens in 2017 it will have 250 rooms. In addition it will have 50 villas with a private pool and 100 holiday apartments that will be sold to investors and placed in a room inventory pool managed by the hotel group on the behalf of the unit owners.
Mövenpick Hotels president and CEO, Jean Gabriel Pérès, said the hotels under management in Vietnam will increase to three by 2018 which is part of the strategy to expand in Asia.
Mövenpick Resort Phu Quoc is on Ong Lang Beach close the main town on the island and the airport.
