BANGKOK Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) has recognised Amadeus for its comprehensive sustainability strategy for the fifth consecutive year both in the European and world categories.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) traces, reviews and evaluates sustainability in leading-edge corporations, worldwide.
Amadeus is the only travel technology company included in both indices.
Amadeus in its press statement on DJSI recognition said: “Our capacity to provide the travel industry with IT solutions to help reduce its environmental impact was an important part of the selection process.”
As an IT company, Amadeus reached the highest scores in relevant areas such as code of business conduct, risk and crisis management, environmental management systems and reporting, and corporate citizenship.
“This new DJSI recognition of Amadeus’ strategy encourages us to continue to work in that direction,” said Amadeus IT Group, senior vice president general counsel and corporate secretary, Tomas López Fernebrand.
Amadeus is a leading provider of advanced technology solutions for the global travel industry. Customer groups include travel providers (airlines, hotels, rail and ferry operators), travel sellers (travel agencies and websites), and travel buyers (corporations and travel management companies).
The group employs around 14,000 people worldwide, across central sites in Madrid (headquarters), Nice (development) and Erding (operations), as well as over 70 local Amadeus commercial organisations globally and has a presence in more than 190 countries.
