Jordan sees an increase in UK visitors

Jordan saw further growth in UK visitor numbers in the first quarter of 2017, January – March, increasing by 15.8% compared to the same period in 2016. Jordan Trail 4 - Karak to Dana

The Jordan Tourism Board reveals the increase in travellers follows the announcement that UK tourists to the country also grew by 7% in 2016.

The launch of the Jordan Trail in early 2017, that connects the length of the country from Um Qais in the north to Aqaba in the south, added another dimension to the country’s tourism appeal.

The trail allows visitors to hike the whole of Jordan, stopping at iconic spots including Petra, the Dead Sea and Wadi Rum, as well as primarily unseen areas along the way.

The first quarter of 2017 also saw the country’s first signature 18-hole grass golf course in Aqaba, on the country’s Red Sea coastline.
