Vietman launches National Tourism Year 2011

A ceremony has been held in Vietnam’s Phu Yen province to mark the launch the country’s National Tourism Year 2011. The campaign will focus on driving tourism to eight cities and provinces on Vietnam’s south and central coast, from Danang to Binh Thuan.

According to the Vietnam National Administration for Tourism (VNAT), various cultural, sporting and tourism events are being planned, including an Asian music festival, an international choir festival, a fi lm festival and a yacht race. The theme for this year’s National Tourism Year is ‘Beach and Island’. Vietnam is aiming to attract 5.3 million international tourists in 2011, with total revenues targeted at VND110 trillion (US$5.2 billion).

Meanwhile Raffles has launched a 24-hour butler service in Cambodia

At Raffles Hotel Le Royal butler service is reserved for guests staying in the hotel’s Heritage Wing and includes express in-room check-in/out and personalised amenities, as well as wake-up calls with a newspaper and morning beverage.
