AF and KLM imposes 0% Commission

23 Oct 2009  2105 | World Travel News

Effective 2 November, Air France and KLM will cut a 3% commissions to travel agents in Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos.

The zero commission policy means travel agents will have to charge customers an additional so-called service fees when they sell Air France/KLM tickets.

Air France/ KLM has identified service fees that customers will have to pay when they buy tickets. See chart below.

It will almost certainly lead to many travel agencies diverting sales for the two airlines to other airlines that offer identical services and pay a commission.

Also the move will encourage passengers to buy direct from the airlines through their websites, where cheaper fares are posted.
