A Taiwanese tourism delegation is attending an international travel fair in Daegu, a sister city of Taipei, to sell South Koreans on the idea of vacationing in Taiwan.

Taiwan's booth at the Daegu fair, which opened Friday and runs through April 18, embraces the theme of "Taiwan -- The Heart of Asia, " and highlights local attractions such as Taipei 101, the National Palace Museum, and Sun Moon Lake, the Tourism Bureau said Friday.

Guide books on Taiwan's hot spring resorts and restaurants, and promotional gifts, such as EasyCards and amusement park tickets, are being distributed at the show to mark the Republic of China's centennial year, said Chen Pei-tsen, director of the Taiwan Visitors Association in Seoul.

The fair was the third stop on the delegation's tour of South Korea.Led by Tourism Bureau Deputy Director-General Wayne Liu, the delegation of representatives from the tourism industry arrived in South Korea on March 28 and made presentations in Seoul and Busan before heading on to Daegu.
