New tourism site opens in Champassak

National Park of Sepaine Forest Protection Area and Project in cooperation with Champassak Tourism Service held an opening ceremony for Phoumuey or Muey mountain, as a new tourism site early this month.The establishment of Muey mountain as a new tourism was under the support International Association for Human and Environment (GAPE).

“The new tourist site of Muey mountain, located in Houay Maesang village, Pathoumphone district will assist socio-economic development and locals will benefit from selling local handicrafts for tourists.

It will also promote ecotourism in participation of local people,” said Mr. Soulivanh Savattha, Chief of Pathoumphone district.Muey mountain is 727 m high and blessed with untouched nature and beautiful nature scenes, which is 68 km far away from Pakse district.

In the Muey mountain, tourists can visit a cave “Phouthone” and Danphapheung sightseeing platform and Nongchanh swamp and rare wild animals.The opening ceremony drew Mr. Soulivanh Savattha, Chief of Pathoumphone district, Mr. Bouathong Souvannasane, a member of Provincial Party Committee and other officials.
