Southeast Asia hotels dominate sector

Hotels in Southeast Asia have ranked as top properties, featuring 25 times in an Expedia world’s top 500 hotels list.Properties across Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam appeared in the 2011 Insiders’ Select list this year, with Cambodia’s Tara Angkor sitting coming in first for the region, sitting at 50th in the list.

Other accommodation buildings in the top 500 include; Sokha Angkor Resort in Cambodia, Ayana Resort andamp; Spa in Bali, Shangri-La Hotel in Malaysia as well as Singapore’s Conrad Centennial.“Southeast Asia has always featured strongly in previous Insider’s Select lists, due to its popularity as a travel destination,” Expedia Asia Pacific managing director Dan Lynn said. andnbsp;

“This year is no exception and is a clear indication that hotels in the region consistently provide good quality, service and value to travellers, leaving our Asian travellers spoilt for choice.”Topping the list this year was the Cedarbrook Lodge in Seattle USA, followed by iQ Hotel Roma in Italy and the Hotel Antiche Figure in Venice.
