Construction of largest Mekong tourist park

Song Hau Tourist Park will include a resort, luxury hotel with 210 guestrooms, restaurants, conference hall, entertainment area and other facilities.

With a total investment of VND490 billion (US$24 million), the will be the largest in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta when construction is completed 42 months.

Company director Nguyen Ngoc Ha, General Director of Song Hau - Can Tho JSC, said the restaurants would be completed and brought into operation next year.

He said the tourist park would accommodate 5,500 guests and create jobs for 3,000 workers.

Thai consultancy to hold forth at seminar on foreign contractor tax

Australia touts its financial services credentials for infrastructure building

HCM CITYandnbsp; Australia's robust financial services industry can benefit Viet Nam, especially in infrastructure development, Tim Harcourt, chief economist of Austrade said last Friday.

He was speaking at the launching ceremony of

the Australian Financial Services Benchmark Report released in HCM City.

According to the report, Australia has established its position as a leading financial services centre in the region and the world.

Australian financial institutions have a lot of successes in Asia, particularly Viet Nam and China, compared to their investment in North American or Europe, the report says.

It says Viet Nam's agricultural, education and infrastructure sectors can also benefit from Australia's growing financial services.

European nations offer green business solutions at exhibition in HCM City

HCM CITYandnbsp; Green technologies and business solutions that Viet Nam badly needs as it braces to meet climate change challenges will be presented by European firms at a conference and exhibition in HCM City in September.

The second edition of "GreenBiz Conference and Exhibition on European Green Business Solutions" (GreenBiz 2011) is being organised by the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham), in partnership with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Investment andamp; Trade Promotion Centre in HCMC (ITPC).

GreenBiz 2011 will focus on green sustainable business solutions, targeting the Vietnamese government and companies in particular. Organisers said it will present specific solutions to tackle climate change, energy issues and other environmental challenges.
