The Region initiative announces Best Tourism Minister Award for Central Asian states

"The Region Initiative - Networking of Responsible Tourism Organizations of South Asia, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe" has called for nominations from tourism stakeholders of Central Asian states to nominate 3 tourism ministers from each country. Stakeholders can nominate sitting tourism ministers or even previous ministers who had been the best for the tourism industry for country.
Nominations have been called from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmanistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.The Region was established in May 2010. It invited all regional intergovernmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, tour operators, and other stakeholders of South Asia, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe to institute stronger and closer relationships. The initiative marks to re-establish tourism in the Silk Road regions.
Armenia, Bangladesh, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Tajikistan, Russia, Sri Lanka, Turkey, and Uzbekistan have joined hands to establish a strong base for cost-effective tours, sharing information and knowledge and getting benefits from the strength of its partners.
The Region Initiative promotes small stakeholders of the tourism industry, including accommodation providers, tour operators, tourist guides, and communities providing community-based tourism. Non-partner accommodation providers, tour operators, tourist guides, and communities providing community-based tourism can also contact The Region to promote their product free of cost. The last date for nomination is July 31, 2011.
Intergovernmental organizations, National Tourism Organizations (NTOs), national Tourism Boards (NTBs), non-governmental organizations, and registered tour operators can nominate 3 best ministers from their respective countries.
