Lady Gaga urges travel to Japan

Last month Forbes magazine dubbed her the most powerful celebrity in the world and Lady Gaga has taken that celebrity power to Japan, urging the world to visit the island nation.

Speaking to media at the recent MTV Video Music Awards Japan (renamed Video Music Aid Japan), Lady Gaga said she has spent her time in the country eating shabu-shabu and enjoying Tokyo.I can't say enough to people all over the world that the majority of Japan right now, Japan in general, is very safe, Lady Gaga told media.It's fine to come here; it's beautiful.

Together with Japan's tourism agency commissioner and the US ambassador to Japan, Lady Gaga urged her global audience to travel to Japan, CNN reported.The most important thing and the best thing we can do for Japan right now is to boost tourism, she said.And so everyone come to Japan and enjoy the beautiful country.

According to CNN quoting the Japan National Tourism Organisation, tourism to Japan fell 73 per cent in March this year, compared to the same period last year following the March earthquake, tsunami and Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant crisis.In related news, Lady Gaga has been sued in a class action claiming that all funds raised from the sale of Gaga's Japan relief wristbands did not go to victims as promised.
